The State of New Jersey and the Council of New Jersey State College Locals, AFT, AFL-CIO have had bargaining agreements in place since 1972. The Council of New Jersey State College Locals is the legal representative for the purpose of collective negotiations covering terms and conditions of employment for the unit composed of the following members of the College: full time teaching and/or research faculty; adjunct faculty, department chairpersons; non-managerial administrative staff; librarians; student personnel staff; professional academic support personnel holding faculty rank; and full-time members of the unit who teach summer session (as qualified by the bargaining unit Agreement). The College of New Jersey’s AFT unit is named The College of New Jersey Federation of Teachers and designated as Local 2364.
