609.771.3080

As chief academic officer, the provost has responsibility for over 360 full-time faculty and librarians and more than fifty degree programs offered through eight schools. The Office of Academic Affairs allocates resources and administers policies that undergird faculty work with highly talented undergraduates and graduate students at a college characterized by a collaborative, engaged, rigorous intellectual community. To this end, the provost, reporting to the president, leads strategic planning.

Dr. Margo DelliCarpini was appointed provost effective July 1, 2025. Prior to her arrival at TCNJ, she served at The Pennsylvania State University beginning in 2021 when she joined the university as the chancellor of Penn State Abington and professor of linguistics. In 2023, Dr. DelliCarpini was named Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses & Executive Chancellor, with oversight of Penn State’s 20 Commonwealth Campuses including six comprehensive colleges, the Penn State Great Valley School of Graduate Professional Studies, and the University College.

Among her distinguished achievements, Dr. DelliCarpini has worked across the university to address significant organizational and budget challenges. She collaborated with the University Faculty Senate to create an official Commonwealth Campus Faculty Advisory Committee to create a formal and regular opportunity for faculty engagement with her and her leadership team. In her role as Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses, she aligned campus budgets with available resources and developed budgetary processes to meet market realities. She created a strategic funding source to invest in promising and scalable initiatives that will drive student growth across her campuses and promote economic development in the communities they serve. In addition, she led a reimagination of professional academic advising to create a comprehensive, data-driven, holistic advising framework aligned with national best practices.

Prior to her time at Penn State, Dr. DelliCarpini served as the Vice Provost for Strategic Educational Partnerships & Dean for the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She received her B.A. in Linguistics, M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, and Ph.D. in Linguistics, all from Stony Brook University.
