TCNJ welcomes Dr. Christopher “Kit” Murphy, Associate Provost for Liberal Learning and Curriculum

I am pleased to announce that Christopher “Kit” Murphy has accepted an offer to become TCNJ’s Associate Provost in Liberal Learning and Curriculum. Kit will begin his tenure at TCNJ on January 6, 2014, where he will assume leadership in the Office of Liberal Learning.

Kit received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and a Ph.D. in neurobiology and behavior from Cornell University. Following a post-doctoral position at the University of Missouri-Columbia, Kit joined the faculty at James Madison University, where he served for nine years as the coordinator of the mathematics and science portion of the General Education program there. For the past three and half years, Kit has served as chair of the Department of Biology at Indiana State University, where he continued his involvement in general education. His research focuses on acoustic communication in treefrogs, and he will hold an appointment as a full professor in the Department of Biology.

I ask that our campus community join me in welcoming Kit to TCNJ and would like to extend my thanks to the members of the search committee for their diligence and dedication throughout this process.

Jacqueline Taylor, Ph.D.
