Associate Provost for Institutional Effectiveness
The Center for Institutional Effectiveness (CIE) has a one-sentence mission statement: We connect data to decisions and actions at TCNJ. In that capacity, CIE provides a sustainable decision support mechanism to ensure TCNJ’s success in realizing its strategic goals and commitments. As the main data and information hub at TCNJ, CIE offers analytics skillset and expertise in three main areas: 1) Business Intelligence; 2) Institutional Research; and, 3) Assessment.
Currently serving as an associate provost in Academic Affairs and a faculty affiliate in the Department of Psychology, Dr. Auryan’s professional background includes more than 25 years of teaching, research, management, and consulting experience. He received his Ph.D. in cognitive psychology from Rutgers University, and an MBA degree in Healthcare Management and Administration from Baruch College, CUNY. Prior to joining TCNJ, Dr. Auryan held faculty and administrative positions at the City University of New York, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and the VA Hospital. He has taught courses in psychology at Rutgers University, developed ‘independent research’ curriculum for residents and fellows at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, offered executive MPA courses in statistics and research methodology at Baruch College, and provided leadership seminars in quality control for numerous organizations, including The Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA), Health and Hospital Corporation (HHC), New York Housing Authority (NYCHA), Partnership for After School Education (PASE), and The Hispanic Federation, among others. Dr. Auryan has an extensive background in the field of accreditation and has collaborated with the Middle States Commission for Higher Education on its decennial visits to a number of colleges in the northeast.
